All of my neices and nephews are setting some pretty high expectations for the other kids in the world. If my kids are not cute I am going to be soooo mad.

tiny victories
when i was IN school i LOVED student loans. now they seem like the bane of my existence.
i work three jobs and get a lot of headaches and almost never get to work out, so when i see things like this on my computer screen i get really excited and feel like it is a little bit worth it...

granted i still have approximately 90% of my total loans to finish paying off from a different lender, but days like today it feels a little less daunting. Baby steps to work...baby steps to the bank....baby steps to financial freeeedom!

reception
today (and yesterday) i am filling in for the receptionist at the FSCA office.
yesterday (and today) i spent a lot of time on the internet. reading blogs, looking at clothes, and trying to find out how much half a knockoff oreo cookie weighs in grams. as it turns out you can just look on the back of the box of cookies and it will take you many less hours to locate that information. I found the answer at Safeway last night at approximately 2:00 AM, but if you do not google it yourself then you might not learn anything from the internet.
some things are not very interesting at all ...YET, but i do not really believe in useless information. This is just a pessimistic term for information that i have not figured out how to use.
Where will the internet bring me today?
I get a 15 minute break at 10 and an hour for lunch and another break at 3. I have a package of mint oreos sitting under the desk that I can make friends at the office with. even if it is kind of my last day. I will be glad to go back to NOT waking up before 8 am, but I am going to miss the constant supply of the internet and mint oreos (14.5 g (not kg) a cookie).

50 ways to Leave
like many people...i love Flight of the Conchords. This song has been making me laugh for weeks but now that i am unemployed and sitting around the Hirt Farm, i have been singing it aloud to myself all day. enjoy

POOR!
CRISIS! i am hoping that by some miracle somebody very rich and/or generous read
s this post.
As some or most of you know, I have been playing rugby ever since i came to BYU.this is a picture from one of my very first games my freshman year. guess which one is me!?! I've gotten better at tackling...i promise.
The women's rugby team here at BYU does not get ...anything. We are a club team that barely qualifies for club status for no other reason than the administration just doesn't feel like letting us. We are not allowed to use BYU's name and/or official logos on any of our jerseys or practice shirts or anything. Everyone who is on the team is an official student, full time and in good academic standing. We follow all the standards of any other BYU sports team because that is what we consider ourselves, despite the recognition we do or do not get. We aren't allowed to play or practice on campus, so we either scrounge for unused space or we have to drive to a field that is ten minutes away (not that far i suppose, but not all of us have cars, and we have to share the field with two city club teams). All of this might be even slightly warranted if we were a crappy team, but the truth is we are REALLY GOOD! A few years ago we got NCAA approval to compete in the national playoffs. Last year was the first year we were ever able to compete with truly competitive teams (before that we just played schools arund Utah and Idaho, typically slaughtering them by at least 30 points a game. which is the equivalent of about 5 Tries/Touchdowns. the highest scoring game i ever played in was 95 - 0). Unfortunately that put us at a slight disadvantage in the playoffs tournament because we had never played any of the good teams on the west coast, so they put us in last seed. In our qualifying match we lost to Stanford University 26-17. That team went on to be the national champions, and in the championship match they beat the 2nd place team by more than 20 points. If they had known better where to place us in the tournament, we would have truly had a chance at a national title! and then...

THIS YEAR we have the opportunity to go to nationals! The only problem is...we might not have enough money. last weekend we playe our last round of playoffs and we beat Berkely, so now we have the chance to go to the sweet 16 tournament in Florida. If we do well there, the Utah Rugby Union has promised to pay our way to the Final 4 in California, but we will never get there if we can't scrounge up enough money for airfare IN TWO WEEEEEKS! we've been fundraising all semester; selling t shirts, going door to door, advertising for local restaurants - but we just don't have enough. I'm not necessarily asking any of you for money - but if you have any ideas, if you know how to get cheap tickets, or if you know anybody with airline connections or if you know any corporations that are looking to give away some tax-exempt charitable donations, or if you could just keep us in your prayers these next few weeks - PLEASE LET ME KNOW. If you do find that you have money to donate, or if you want to buy some t shirts, you can donate through the website www.womenscougarrugby.com .we truly appreciate it. especially me. LOVE YOU!

Nut-it
I got tagged! woohoooo! This is my first official tag, and i would like to take a moment to thank Holly for this enriching opportunity. You can also thank Holly, because now you get to know seven more things about me (if you didnt already know them).
...ahem...
1. i honestly thought i was "tall" until i moved out of Barrow. come to find out 5'6" is completely average.
2. i used to look like this (which, i am sure you all know, but hopefully you haven't thought about it lately)

3. When i think about it, my favorite band is probably Oasis, and i'm not really sure why because usually when i listen to them i think about all the times we had to do chores when we lived in that awful house on Madcap and our chubby neighbor Marcus had a big annoying crush on me. but anyway, I love Oasis.
4. I have not barfed since i was 8 years old. i remember the exact moment too, but i will refrain from telling you the details.
5. this movie is from one of the funniest moments of my life. Annie and Eva came to visit me at my first rugby tournament in San Diego, and Bret was doing tricks for us all.

6. When I went to work with Dad at Comfort Mechanical, sometimes Trent and i would get quite bored and if Mr. Rogers wasn't on, we would play this game where one person would look like they were taking a drink of their hot chocolate, and the other person had to guess whether they really did or not. i cheated ALL the time. Also, I did not realize that Uncle Terry was not my real uncle until i was about seven years old.
7. My favorite food is mashed potatoes. but none of that imitation stuff. i hope even though mom and dad are vegan, we can still have mashed potatoes made with real cream and butter and delicious artery clogging calories at Christmas. Please?
